The Disclosure Files: What Governments Have Actually Admitted (2023–2026)

2026.07.01 · 3 MIN READ · 563 WORDS

DECLASSIFIED FILE // CEC-2026, LIVE UPDATE

Updated: July 2026. This file is actively maintained.

What Is Disclosure?

Disclosure refers to the formal acknowledgment by governments that Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, UAPs, represent something that cannot be explained by conventional means. Not necessarily extraterrestrial. Not necessarily anything. Just: unexplained. And the admission that this has been known, studied, and suppressed for decades. That admission, however partial, is now happening.

The UAP Disclosure Act (2024)

The United States Congress passed the UAP Disclosure Act as part of the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act. The legislation mandated the declassification of government records related to UAPs and created a framework for review. It was the most significant legislative action on this subject in U.S. history. The files are not all open yet. But the legal mechanism to open them now exists. That is new.

Whistleblowers Under Oath

In July 2023, former intelligence officer David Grusch testified before the U.S. House Oversight Committee, under oath, that the U.S. government possesses non-human craft and biological material. He stated that this information had been deliberately withheld from elected officials and that individuals involved in the program had faced retaliation for attempting to disclose it. Congressional testimony under oath carries legal weight. Grusch maintained his position under questioning. The Department of Defense did not confirm his claims. It also did not successfully refute them.

The Pentagon UAP Office

The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, AARO, was established in 2022 to centralize UAP investigation across military branches. AARO has released annual reports. The reports confirm that UAP encounters are frequent, that some objects demonstrate flight characteristics beyond known technology, and that the historical handling of the subject included efforts to suppress credible reporting. AARO itself acknowledged a pattern of institutional suppression. That acknowledgment, from inside the government apparatus responsible for the suppression, is not a small thing.

The Congressional Hearings (2023 2025)

Multiple congressional hearings took place between 2023 and 2025 that would have been unthinkable a decade earlier. Senior military officials, former intelligence officers, and civilian researchers testified. The tone was not dismissive. The questions were specific. The frustration of elected officials at being denied access to programs operating within their own government was visible and documented. The United States Senate passed a provision requiring that UAP-related programs be reported to Congress. Some of those programs, officials acknowledged, had been operating without congressional oversight for decades.

What Has Actually Been Released

Video footage of UAPs demonstrating capabilities inconsistent with known physics, declassified and released by the U.S. Navy. Internal memos describing encounters, tracking data, and pilot reports. Confirmation that programs existed to study recovered materials. What has not been released: the materials themselves, the analysis of those materials, and the conclusions of those analyses. The gap between what has been confirmed and what has been withheld is where the story actually lives.

Where It Stands Now

Disclosure is not a single event. It is a process, one that is happening slowly, unevenly, and with significant institutional resistance. What is clear: the subject is no longer fringe. It is no longer dismissed by default in official settings. The question of what governments know and have known is being asked, under oath, in the most powerful legislative body on earth. The answer has not been given. But the question can no longer be suppressed. That is the current status. File open. Transmission active.
